Brunswick CC Men Defeat Host Team In First Day of Polk State Classic

The Brunswick CC Dolphins Men's Basketball team made a strong opening statement at the Polk State College Classic in Winter Haven, Florida today knocking off host Polk State 88–82 on day one of the event. The Dolphins came out firing and never trailed, building a commanding double-digit lead in the first half before Polk State answered with a late surge to close the gap to 45–40 at halftime. Brunswick CC wasted no time reasserting control in the second half, stretching the lead once again. The host team mounted a final push, but the Dolphins stayed composed down the stretch to seal the hard-earned six-point victory. Linwood Rowe led the charge with an impressive 20-point performance. Alius Bowser followed with 17 points, while Blake Bartney added 15 and Darius Kane contributed 13 to a balanced Dolphins scoring attack. With momentum on their side, the Dolphins will be back on the floor Saturday at 1pm as they take on St. Petersburg College in day two of the Polk State College Classic.
