Dolphins Receive a Major Gift and Drop Cape Fear CC 97-73

Oh what a night! The Nationally Ranked #23 Brunswick Community College Dolphins looked the part against their rivals Cape Fear CC in a 97-73 win in front of a packed crowd. The game started with the teams going back and forth before the Dolphins got into their rhythm and pulled ahead using their depth and pressure defense midway through the first half to take a 40-29 halftime lead. Then at halftime the surprise of the evening occurred. The Dolphins along with the fans were able to find out that the fifth annual community fundraiser led by brothers Joe and Moe Stanley of Shallotte had yielded an astonishing record of $80,000 for the program to help supplement budget shortfalls. With all the excitement in the air the Dolphins came out the second half with even more energy and out scored their rivals 57-44 to determine the final score. Though a complete effort up and down the roster where all 15 Dolphins were to check in and contribute the leading scorers were Alius Bowser with 19 points followed by Darius Kane with 18 and Viktor Alao and Jamie Brooks with 12 each. The next game for the Dolphins is at home against USC-Salkehatchie at 3 pm and it is preceded by a women's game at 1 pm.
