With 92-75 Win in Semifinals Versus USC-Salkehatchie Dolphins are Headed to Championship Game, Again!
The quest to repeat is still alive for the Brunswick CC Dolphins Men's Basketball (27-6) and they made a powerful statement in the semifinals. In one of their most impressive performances of the season, the #2 seeded Dolphins combined relentless defense with balanced scoring to defeat #3 USC-Salkehatchie 92–75 in the semifinals of the Region 10–D1 Atlantic District Championship in Petersburg, VA. Facing the region's highest-scoring offense, which entered the game averaging an incredible 112 points per contest, the Dolphins delivered a dominant defensive performance. Brunswick held the Indians to their second-lowest scoring total of the season and their lowest output against Region 10–D1 competition, setting the tone early with intensity, pressure, and discipline on the defensive end. The Dolphins wasted little time taking control of the game, racing out to a commanding 51–31 halftime lead behind strong defensive stops and timely scoring runs. From there Brunswick continued to play with poise and confidence throughout the second half, maintaining its momentum and closing out the 92–75 victory. Leading the offensive charge was Linwood Rowe, who scored a game-high 21 points. Amari Latham added 12 points, while Darius Kane contributed 10 as the Dolphins once again showcased the depth and balanced attack that has been a trademark of the program all season. With the victory, Brunswick advances to the Region 10–D1 Atlantic District Championship Game tomorrow at 1:00 PM, where the Dolphins will face #1 seed Gaston College. The two teams split their regular-season meetings, setting up what promises to be a thrilling championship showdown with a trip to the national tournament on the line.
