Heart of a Champion! Dolphins Fall Short 82-79 in Overtime to Gulf Coast State at National Tournament.

In an absolute thriller and most exciting game on Day 1 of the NJCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball Championship, the #19-seeded Brunswick CC Dolphins battled to the very end before falling 82–79 in overtime to #14-seeded Gulf Coast State. After a back and forth start, Gulf Coast surged late in the first half to take a 43–29 lead into the break and pushed the advantage to 16 early in the second. However the Dolphins showed their heart. Brunswick exploded offensively, finding the rhythm that made them one of the most dangerous scoring teams in the country, storming all the way back to take the lead in the closing minutes. With the season on the line and just 3.7 seconds left, Alius Bowser stepped to the stripe and knocked down a clutch free throw to force overtime. In overtime, the Dolphins struck first, building a lead of five and putting themselves in position to pull off the comeback. Gulf Coast answered with clutch plays of their own down the stretch to narrowly escape with the win. Bowser led the charge with a career high 30 points, while Linwood Rowe added 20. Gulf Coast was led by their point guard, TCU signee Trent Lincoln, with 25. While the result didn't go their way, this Dolphins team leaves a legacy. 28 wins, back to back Region 10 D1 Atlantic District Championships, the highest national tournament seed in program history and fight that proved they belong on the national stage. The Dolphins would like to thank everyone who followed their journey this season and urge you to recruit a friend to be a Dolphin fan in the future.
