Starling Sets Career High, but Shorthanded Lady Dolphins Fall at Home to Cleveland CC

On Sunday, the Brunswick CC Lady Dolphins were defeated 85-53 at home by Cleveland CC. The Lady Dolphins played without their leading scorer, Chelsea Rivera, who was injured in practice on Saturday. Despite the setback, they stayed competitive early on, trailing by only five points at the end of the first quarter. However, a strong run by Cleveland in the second quarter extended their lead to 15 points by halftime. The visitors continued to pull away in the third, and their dominance carried into the fourth, ultimately determing the final score.

Kayia Starling led the Lady Dolphins with a career-high 14 points, followed by Shuntay Douglas with 11 points and Amaya Glenn with 10. Douglas led the Lady Dolphins with 13 rebounds and Destiney Mitchell led the them with six assists. The Lady Dolphins will be off until next weekend, when they will face Louisburg College on Saturday and Catawba Valley CC on Sunday in Region 10 matchups, as part of the BCC Holiday Classic.
