Finishing Strong! Lady Dolphins Rally Past Cape Fear 68–56 in Regular Season Finale to get Season Sweep
The Brunswick Community College Lady Dolphins Basketball team closed out the regular season in impressive fashion, storming back in the second half to defeat Cape Fear Community College 68–56 in Wilmington, NC. The contest, which also marked Sophomore Day for the host team, was a true game of runs from the opening tip. Brunswick found itself trailing by double digits at halftime after Cape Fear used early momentum to build separation. However the second half told a completely different story. The Lady Dolphins came out of the locker room with renewed focus and intensity. They began chipping away late in the third quarter, tightening up defensively and finding rhythm on the offensive end. By the start of the fourth quarter, the momentum had completely shifted. With relentless energy, disciplined execution, and resilient effort, Brunswick took control down the stretch turning a halftime deficit into a decisive 12-point victory. Finishing the season sweep against their rivals creates great momentum as the Lady Dolphins move into the post season. The Lady Dolphins are due to host a Region Tournament game on Monday at 6 pm.
