Lady Dolphins Defeat Catawba Valley CC 70-50 to Advance in Region 10-D2 Tournament

The Brunswick Community College Lady Dolphins Basketball team delivered an exciting home victory Tuesday night defeating the Catawba Valley Community College Red Hawks in the opening round of the NJCAA Region 10 Division 2 Tournament. As the #7 seed, Brunswick jumped out early with a 24–17 first-quarter lead and carried a 38–32 advantage into halftime. The Lady Dolphins turned up the intensity after the break edging the Red Hawks 15-13 in the third before dominating the fourth quarter 17–5 to close out their final home game of the season in style winning 70-50. All-Region First Team selection Faith Farmer led the way with 26 points, while All-Region Third Team honoree Chelsea Rivera added 16 and Jazmine Burns chipped in 10. With the win the Lady Dolphins advance to play #2 seeded Louisburg College in the quarter-finals at 4 pm on Thursday on the campus of Catawba Valley CC in Hickory, NC.
